Primary school entries included healthy Welsh burgers, banana bridges and ham bombshells. Oatmeal mackerel with rocket, hot spicy fish cakes and seaside fare were just some of the recipes created and cooked by pupils in secondary schools.
Teacher and pupil representatives from winning schools travelled to London on 27 June 2006 to meet Jamie Oliver and Parmjit Dhanda (Parliamentary Under-Secretary) and found out who was crowned the national winner. In addition, 370,000 children have received special certificates to recognise their great healthy eating and cooking work.
