Top tips to support your entry
1. It’s simple, but really important! Make sure your entry covers all the Special Challenge 2010 criteria, i.e. make sure your recipe includes a name, a list of ingredients and the method. Lots of people forget to do this! For all the criteria and to find out what the judges will be looking for click here.
2. Remember – you can look at recipes to get inspiration, but the recipes entered for the Special Challenge must be original. Sadly some entries had to be disqualified last year because they had been taken directly from other sources.
3. The Special Challenge involves creating a sustainable ‘spread’. This means your entry should include 3 or 4 dishes. Primary and Special Schools can work in groups to produce their entries.
4. For ideas on ways to address the sustainable aspect of the Special Challenge, look at the resources on the Active Kids Get Cooking website, e.g. Guide to 2010 Special Challenge, Sustainable cooking guide.
5. Get inspiration from last year’s winners! To get an idea of what the judges are looking for, you could have a look at the dishes that won last year. Why not download the Special Challenge Cook Book? This is a available to view and download at the bottom of this page.
